Your Application for Membership

In submitting an application to be a Member of Sæl Spa, you agree to be bound by these Spa Rules and the Terms and Conditions of Membership.  You represent and warrant to us that you are at least 25 years old.  All applications for Membership are reviewed and considered by the Sæl Spa Membership Committee.  Applicants will be informed when their application has been received, and when it has been accepted by the Membership Committee.

The waiting time from application to acceptance can vary enormously, so it is not always possible to inform Applicants how long their application will take to be accepted. Applications and memberships (whether new or continuing) shall be determined by the Sæl Spa Membership Committee, in their absolute discretion.  Please note that we have many more applications than we have available memberships.  Sæl Spa will not provide reasons for any decisions it makes as to membership of the Spa and it may not contact unsuccessful applicants.

Membership Categories

Sæl Spa offers the following categories of Membership:

Your Membership shall be subject to these Spa Rules and the Sæl Spa Terms and Conditions of Membership, a copy of which is set out below.  Any and all such terms and conditions shall be subject to change from time to time.  While Sæl Spa will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that Members are aware of such changes, it is the responsibility of the Member to ensure that they have an up to date version of the relevant terms and conditions.

Membership Term(s) & Renewal

All Sæl Spa Memberships are provided on an annual basis, commencing on the Membership start date and continuing for the Contract Term.  All Membership Fees and Joining Fees are non-refundable and Memberships are automatically renewed for the following year on the anniversary of the Membership start date. Sæl Spa reserves the right to increase Membership Fees upon renewal of a member’s Membership with the Spa.

For the avoidance of doubt, the minimum Contract Term for any new Member is 12 months.  Where a new Member seeks to terminate their Membership within the first 12 months (including, but not limited to, any low attendance at Sæl Spa and/or any low usage of any services connected to Sæl Spa and/or any other reasons associated with actual or projected usage of the Membership), they shall remain liable to pay the Membership Fees, in full, for the remainder of the initial 12 months.  This applies to all categories of Membership and applies regardless of whether the Member pays their Membership Fees annually, or monthly.

Membership Fees & Deposits

Upon acceptance of an initial Membership application, a non-refundable Joining Fee will be charged. Following the approval of a Membership application, or the renewal of a Membership, the Membership fee becomes payable immediately.  Any applicable Membership fees will then be charged either annually or monthly according to Member preference stated upon joining.  Fees will be charged on an automated, non-refundable and recurring basis.

By providing Sæl Spa with payment details, Members accept and consent to being charged with Membership fees in the form requested by Sæl Spa upon their application being approved or renewed.  Membership fees can be changed at the Spa’s sole discretion, at any time, and we will notify Members in advance if there are to be any changes to the amount, date or frequency of the payment of Membership fees. For the avoidance of doubt, Sæl Spa reserves the right to increase Membership Fees upon renewal of a member’s Membership with the Spa.

Failure to pay the annual Membership fee (or any instalment of the same, where applicable) within one month of the due date, after being notified by Sæl Spa, will result in Membership, and access to the Spa, being suspended until payment is received. If a Member is still in arrears three months from the due date, their Membership may be terminated without notice. For the avoidance of doubt, such suspension and/or termination shall be without prejudice to the Member’s obligation to pay Membership Fees in the initial 12 months of their Membership.

Membership Cancellations & Committee Discretion

To cancel a Membership to Sæl Spa , a Member must provide the Spa with written notice. For cancellations at the end of a given 12 month Contract Term, a minimum 30 days prior written notice must be provided.  Should any Membership be cancelled, lapse or be terminated for any reason, all outstanding balances must be immediately settled, and any Sæl Spa property returned to the Spa.  Where a Member cancels their Membership and subsequently seeks to rejoin as a Member, they will be required to complete a new application, which will be determined by the Membership Committee.  If accepted, they will be required to pay the Joining Fee and Membership Fee applicable as at the date of their new application.  For the avoidance of doubt, the Membership Committee reserves the right to revoke the Membership of any Member, at any time, and at its sole discretion without providing a reason. Membership Fee refunds or partial refunds shall be at the Spa’s absolute discretion.

Proposing New Members and Being Proposed for Membership
